FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

As HERO DAWGS work in high-stress environments, they will be required to complete an evaluation by our certified dog trainer, who just happens to train our first responder dogs (more heroes!). The trainer will look at temperament, suitability, and how the animal reacts when placed in uncomfortable situations (ie. loud noises, large groups, etc.). If the training deems your dog a fit, you will join the pack and begin the incredible journey of being a HERO DAWG!


Any dog can become a HERO DAWG! Successful pack members have advanced obedience training, are well behaved, respond to their handler, can navigate uncomfortable environments, and have loads of love to give! 


Yes. All HERO DAWGS must be fully vaccinated and provide proof of vaccination as required. 


While visiting patients in hospitals is important, HERO DAWGS have the specific job of visiting healthcare workers and first-responders.


HERO DAWGS are required to commit to regular visits (weekly/bi-weekly/monthly) that range from 60-90 minutes.


Yes, all HERO DAWGS must be spayed or neutered.


Dogs must be at least 12 months of age to become a HERO DAWG.
